Memorial Day weekend is here again. a time to remember and respect our military and our country. a time to reflect on the past. a time to do the outdoor chores around the house. a time to be with friends and family. and for many, a time of vacation from work.
I remember that Memorial Day weekend always meant playing baseball double headers and having a well deserved cookout after, as a teenager and later as a young man.
Many have specific plans but our tradition is not to plan anything or keep a time schedule.
Parades are always nice and fun for the kids. i remember being in parades and feeling a sense of pride for those who participated and were spectators.
Politicians will give speak of a great America and flags will wave.
Enjoy your weekend and your own special time.
