Empty Calories
Looking for a snack to eat,
I searched the pantry
For a treat,
And found...
Cracker sleeves, opened wide,
(Naught but crumbs
Left inside),
Boxes, plundered; NEATLY LINED,
Hiding empty bags,
Behind,
From baking chips (sneaked as snacks),
And ransacked cans
Of Pringles Stacks,
Near old marshmallows (hard as rocks).
So, I just gnawed
A cardboard box.
