School Spotlight

Whether you're on your way to the library or stopping by City Hall, chances are you're driving by St. John Vianney School, located in the heart of Brookfield. This blog will provide insight into life and education at SJV, a 4K-8 educational anchor in Brookfield since 1957.

SJV 8th Grader Published Article on Immigration Reform

Congratulations to 8th grader, Danielle Kulpins, for having her editorial on immigration reform published in the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel in the Sunday, March 28th issue. Danielle wrote her opinions on immigration as an editorial assignment in Social Studies. After reading and researching information on current illegal immigration to the United States, students were to formulate their own opinion and write an editorial based on specific criteria. Students were able to revise their editorials and then submit them for
publication. Danielle did just that! Kudos to Danielle!

You Have the World in Your Hand

SJV 8th grade girl scouts painted the school's primary playground on Saturday afternoon with a state map and compass. This activity was part of their Silver Girl scout award project. They involved Girl Scouts from a younger troop to learn with them as part of their succession planning.  On Tuesday, April 20, the SJV students presented World Folk Fair in the Parish Hall. Students, parents and the community learned about different countries customs and music, and sampled food and drink.
