Christmas (and Santa) comes to the Elm Grove Public Library this Sunday, December 8, with the annual Lights of Love Holiday Open House
Now that Thanksgiving has passed and you’ve finally finished off the leftover turkey and cranberries, it’s time to welcome the Christmas season, which is officially in full swing. Get into the holiday spirit this year with the Elm Grove Library’s annual Lights of Love Open House this Sunday from 3-5 pm. The event is the culmination of the Friends of the Elm Grove Library’s annual Lights of Love fundraiser, and it certainly is a celebration not to be missed.
There are so many great traditions that come with Christmas, from caroling, to lighting the beautiful tree, to listening to your favorite Christmas music, and don’t forget your children’s annual visit to see Santa Claus. There is simply no better way to celebrate the season than being out in the community, spending time with your friends and neighbors; savoring all the magic Christmas has to offer. The Lights of Love Holiday Open House is your chance to take part in all of these activities and more. The fun starts at 3:00 and features crafts for the children, a Lionel model train on display, complete with conductor, a string quartet playing your all your holiday favorites, and a special visit from Santa Claus, who will be in the library from 3:00-4:30. At the conclusion of Santa’s visit, Tom Leahy will lead the Christmas caroling with local girl scouts, culminating in the Village’s official tree-lighting ceremony at 4:30 pm. After the tree-lighting, come back into the Village Hall’s cozy courthouse for complimentary refreshments, and say hello to your neighbors. All of these holiday festivities are open to the public. While you’re at the library, don’t forget to check out your favorite Christmas book, movie, or CD. We hope to see you on Sunday, December 8, from 3:00-5:00 pm. Happy holidays!
