A Resource for Parents with Young Children

Autism, children, development, delays, families, ages and stages, babies, Easter Seals, Easter Seals Southeast Wisconsin; Make the First Five Count

Most every week at Easter Seals, we meet a new family that has a child with a significant cognitive delay or has signs of autism.   Too often a parent will say, " We suspected something was wrong, but..."     Being a parent is not easy, especially with your first child.   You question yourself constantly and second-guess your decisions because you want what's best for your child.   When should my child be crawling? walking?talking?   Easter Seals, with our friends from CVS, have provided an online resource to help you check your child's development that only takes 15 minutes.

The Ages and Stage Questionnaire is the "gold standard" in indentifying delays in development of your child.   The results will be reviewed by trained professionals and results will be in your hands in days.  If help is needed, a referral will be shared.  With the right family support and professional services, an early delay can be overcome.

Just follow this link to take the Ages and Stages Questionnaire: http://es.easterseals.com/site/PageServer?pagename=ntlc10_mffc_homepageasq   The Questionnaire is now available in Spanish.

Easter Seals wants all children to have the best start in life, we call this campaign, Make the First Five Count, to sign our online petition to support early support for young children go to www.MaketheFirstFiveCount.org
