St. Mary's Visitation - Another Successful School Year Comes to an End

School is out for Summer!

School is out for Summer, 2014, but we have a few events and photos to share from a very successful school year at St. Mary's Visitation School in Elm Grove.

Science Teacher, Mrs. Kathy Biernat heading to NASA Research Workshop in June
SMV's Mrs. Kathy Biernat has been selected to attend a NASA Research Workshop in June and the Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy in New Jersey in July.  Mickelson-Exxon is a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) program that accepts only 10% of applicants.
Students were very busy in Mrs. Biernat's Science class in the month before school ended - 5th graders measuring density of liquids and building and flying airplanes from the Civil Air Patrol; 6th graders building spaghetti bridges and Lego simple machines; 7th grade dissecting pigs' hearts; and 8th grade building and launching rockets.

K5 Graduation

The K5 classes put on their blue caps and gowns for a graduation ceremony on Monday, June 9th.  Congratulations to the graduates as they head on to a whole new world in first grade.
