Remeber the dubuy port deal?
Here is another I thought you might find interesting, Communist Chinese company launches second buyout bid for U.S. company
We hear so much about China's emerging bussling economy that it is easy to forget that they are still very much a communist nation. So much of what we buy is from China. My mother used to say, Sure, we buy from them and send them our dollars and we will get it back in bullets.
Bain Capital and the Chinese company Huawei plan to resubmit an application seeking approval for a proposed buyout of U.S. technology group 3Com, which makes anti-hacking software for the military. Bain and Huawei recently withdrew their takeover application with the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS) after lawmakers warned the proposed merger threatened national security. Huawei has ties to the Chinese army, which has conducted cyber attacks on the Pentagon.
Congressman McCotter (R-Michigan) -- a chief critic of the 3Com deal --
is denouncing the newest merger attempt. "The clear indication from the
CFIUS review commission was [that the deal was] a ... stealth assault
on national security and should not be approved," McCotter maintains.
"There is no way a private entity can come in and guarantee the
security and sovereignty of the American people. That is the
responsibility of the federal government acting on their behalf."
