Practically Speaking

Kyle and her husband moved to Brookfield in 1986. She became active in local politics and started blogging in 2004. Her focus is primarily on local issues but often includes state and national topics, too. Kyle looks at things from the taxpayers' perspective in a creative, yet down to earth way, addressing them from a practical point of view.

UPDATE: Rep. Sensenbrenner & Rep. Leah Vukmir Town Hall

Conservatives, WISCONSIN

UPDATE: Rep. Vukmir informed me that Rep. Rich Zipperer and Sen. Ted Kanavas will also be at the Brookfield Town Hall meeting on Sunday. Sen. Jim Sullivan, 5th District, was invited but has not confirmed.

Coming to a municipal building near you, a Town Hall meeting with U.S. Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner and State Representative Leah Vukmir. The first opportunity is tonight, at the Elm Grove Village Hall at 7pm [Map].

If you planned on attending the Elmbrook School Board candidate forum tonight, you still can. There are other Town Hall meetings scheduled:

  • Brookfield Public Safety Building: Feb. 8, 7:00 PM [Map]
  • West Allis Library: March 7, 9:00 AM [Map]
  • Wauwatosa Library: March 28, 9:00 AM [Map]

Congressman Sensenbrenner will be hosting additional Town Hall Meetings throughout the Congressional District. To find additional dates and locations click here.

I attended a Town Hall last spring with Congressman Sensenbrenner and Rep. Rich Zipperer and found it a worthwhile experience. The representatives give an overview of the most pressing issues in the House and Assembly. Then there is time for attendees to ask questions.

Along with the Town Hall schedule, Rep. Vukmir also included an invitation to participate in an Issues Survey in her email newsletter.

The legislature will be considering a broad range of issues from taxes and spending to the long-term fiscal impact of the federal economic stimulus bill.

These issues will have a significant impact on all of us.

Governor Doyle will be delivering his budget address very soon. We will be preparing our first legislative survey based on the agenda that the governor delivers in his Executive Budget.

Your input is essential as we debate the issues and challenges facing Wisconsin.

I have set up a confidential, online survey system that will provide you with the opportunity to share your views. Sign up Today!
