Burrito Night B-ball

Though I am not a true basketball fan, I decided to write a blog on the Friday, Feb. 20 game anyways. It was expected to be an exciting game. The Varsity boys played against our competitors, the Marquette Hilltoppers.

It was an exciting game against the Marquette Hilltoppers.

I'm going to be honest. It was difficult taking pictures at the game. I would find myself staring at the player thinking, "Shoot! Shoot the ball! Wait, I'm supposed to be taking pictures!"

The game was great; people were pumped. We started out pretty strong. But good went to amazing at the end of the first quarter when Jack Moro, a senior I might add, made a shot farther than the half court line. It was incredibly awesome. I was watching the shot, so I didn't get the crowd's jaw-dropping. But I think this picture shows the gist of it, the "OH MY GOD!" of the whole moment. Take that, Marquette!

Half time was interesting, too. At the door, everyone was given a ticket for the big raffle. One person   had the chance to win a year’s supply of Chipotle by making a half-court. A BC student was called and everyone was cheering him on. Yet, as predicted, he missed.

Luckily, Mr. Hipp was able to persuade the Chipotle guy (sorry for not knowing his name or his position) into letting the student try again at the three-pointer line. The guy agreed, and the shooter … missed again. With the crowd going crazy, the student determined and everyone hungry for burritos, the Chipotle guy allowed the shot to be from the free-throw line. Missed again!

The shooter finally made the shot with a lay-up. Now, some day, the school gets free burritos. YAHHHH! Everything tastes better free.

In the third quarter, the game was tied, 22 to 22. Unfortunately, the our team lost. But, in the end, the night can still be remembered for its amazing and not-so-amazing half-court shots.
