Taxpayer Tea Party?

Is that anything like a Handyman Hemp Smoke? Our gardener goes to those all the time. In fact, I believe he's growing some of it in my back yard this summer!

Spending the 4th with Jay Weber?

Is that the best you can do?

It is not what I did. (I had a better offer.) The tea party was just an option. Had I had no plans, I might have considered it, since the one I attended on April 15th was enjoyable.

Thank God the discredited dead-enders of the moral right continue to program themselves into obscurity with movements like this one. As any competent analysis shows, Obama initiatives are projected to contribute approximately $56B to the $1.8T total deficit (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/10/business/economy/10leonhardt.html). Yet follow the links above, and it becomes apparent that a number of wacko fringe groups are blaming the deficit, and the general state of the economy, on Obama.

So, how does the Heritage Foundation want us to balance the budget? By banning abortion?!?

dbeardda,

NYTimes is hardly the independent authority on the deficit numbers. However, if we use the number in the cited article, you are incorrect in saying Obama only contributed $56B, you conveniently forgot the $148B stimulus.

You conveniently forget that the stimulus was initiated and supported by Bush.

dbeardda,

Are you confusing the TARP with the stimulus? The stimulus was all Obama's. Even before he took office, he started selling the plan that will create 3M jobs! Oh, wait, it is create or "SAVE"!

Obama also supported the TARP (like Bush supported the stimulus as you have mentioned), shall we add the TARP to Obama's column?

The NYTime article is very misleading on its numbers. The impact from Obama's stimulus and other program is limited to THIS year's number. Long term, the stimulus along will cost over $800B, not the $156B cited in the article.

I think the point of the post is that taxes are ridiculous and over-reaching whether proposed by Republicans or Democrats.
