With years of marriage, I have found, communication grows:
A statement, I will clarify;
As speaking, actually s-l-o-w-s.
My husband's fond of chocolate cake: A fact, he used to mention.
Now, instead of telling me,
He signals, this intention.
In my pantry, I now have, five cake mixes, displayed:
Each grocery trip, my husband takes,
Yet more, are bought and paid.
We really should just speak more. The cakes I'd love to fix.
I lack cream cheese and sugar, though,
So, frosting, I can't mix.
