St. John Vianney Student Takes Third in Marquette High Math Competition

Congratulations to five students representing St. John Vianney School in the 2009 Math/Algebra Contest at Marquette University High School this past Sunday, October 11th.  There were over three hundred students who attended the contest this year.  The SJV team consisted of four 8th graders, Alyssa Frelka, Maddie Keyes, Mary Kim, and Danielle Kulpins and a 7th student, Daniel Siy.  Each student did an excellent job and is commended for their effort and talent.  Danielle Kulpins placed 3rd in the contest and received a medal for her outstanding academic accomplishment.

The MUHS Math Meet was fun, too.  The day consisted of an individual contest and a team contest.  After the competitions, there were cookies and drinks and a short presentation on fun probability problems. The event concluded with an awards ceremony.  It was a great day and everyone had a lot of fun.
