Town of Brookfield residents invited to Skate Night

Town of Brookfield residents are invited to participate in Town Skate Night from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at Skateland, 1931 E. Main St., Waukesha.

Admission is free if you bring your own rollerskates, or skates can be rented for $2.

Brookfield Public Library plans Nearly New Year's celebration

A Nearly New Year's Party will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 31 at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road.

The event will feature music, games, crafts and treats.

Elm Grove Rec Department offers candy making class

The Elm Grove Recreation Department will hold a chocolate candy making class from noon to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 5 at Village Hall, 13600 Juneau Blvd.

Registration is $22 for residents and $33 for nonresidents. The chocolate and supplies are included in the fee.

A snack will be provided, so let the Recreation Department know if your child has food allergies.

Sharon Lynne Wilson Center presents snow sculpting class

The Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, 19805 W. Capitol Drive, will hold a snow sculpture class from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 6 at Mitchell Park, 19900 River Road.

Professional sculptor Tom Queoff and his team will help families create a fun and unique sculpture from their cube of snow.

Hot chocolate and light snacks will be provided during the event. Lunch will be available for an additional charge.

City parks department, REI team to offer snowshoe class

The Brookfield Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry is teaming with REI to offer a snowshoeing class from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 12 at Mitchell Park, 19900 River Road.

All equipment will be included in the $10 fee.

Space is limited, so sign up early. An adult must accompany children younger than 10 years old.
