Sarah Glaser of Brookfield earned her master's degree in counseling and student personnel from Minnesota State University in Mankato in May.

Megan Lucchesi of Brookfield and Brian Eusebio of Elm Grove earned their bachelor's degrees, in Spanish and in environmental police and planning, from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in May.

Anshu Aggarwal of Brookfield and Margaret Rauh of Elm Grove made the fall semester dean's list at Villanova University in Pennsylvania.

Samuel Sladky of Brookfield is a member of the executive board of the Relay for Life cancer-research fundraiser at Marquette University in Milwaukee, where he is a senior. He also participated in the overnight relay event in April. Sixty-eight teams consisting of 584 individuals participated in the event.

Emily Lingeman of Brookfield, a biochemistry major at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earned a $2,000 Outstanding Sophomore Award from the Wisconsin Agricultural and Life Sciences Alumni Association.

Lucy Shirley of Brookfield, a senior at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, received the Outstanding Student Mentor Award for the 2011-12 school year.

Nicholas Engel of Brookfield received a Campus Dining Services Student Employee Scholarship at the University of Missouri in Columbia for length of service, leadership, extracurricular involvement and academic honors.

Tyler Cobb of Brookfield earned a Rath Distinguished Merit Scholarship Award at St. Norbert College in De Pere for exceptional academic success.

Sara Collins of Brookfield sang soprano with the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha Concert Choir during the spring concert in May.

Olivia Hendricks of Brookfield, a psychology major at Lawrence University in Appleton, has been inducted into the university's chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.

John Ditkof of Brookfield, a student at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha, presented his research into "A New Look at Venus: A Water World and the Possibility of Life in the Atmosphere" at the 12th annual UW System Symposium for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity. Ditkof will be transferring to UW-Madison in the fall and plans to major in geology with a focus in planetary geology.

Bradley Fuchs of Brookfield made the spring semester dean's list at Michigan Technological University in Houghton.

SCHOOLSCENE

The following students were winners in the 2012 Young People's Art Exhibit in April and will have their artwork displayed in the lobby of the Wisconsin Exposition Center during the 2012 Wisconsin State Fair: from Brookfield, Wisconsin Hills Middle School students Emily Gaggioli, junior second place for "Blue Fire," and Brendan Berry, special needs third place for "Bruno the Shark."

The following students from Brookfield earned $2,500 National Merit Scholarship Corp. awards based on their scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test: Joseph Deguire, a student at Marquette University High School in Milwaukee, and Advik Shreekumar and Aditya Trivedi, students at Brookfield East High School.

SERVICENEWS

Air National Guard Airman Joseph D. Stirn graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, with distinction as an honor graduate. Stirn, the son of Diane Wood of Brookfield, is a 2005 graduate of Brookfield East High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in 2009 from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
