Tickets on sale now for spelling bee for literacy
The Kiwanis Club of Elm Grove Golden K is hosting the Adult Spelling Bee, a fundraiser for The Literacy Council of Greater Waukesha, at the Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee at 5 p.m. Aug. 5.
Waukesha-area Kiwanis Clubs send three-person teams to compete for the title "Champion Spellers."
The evening includes dinner, a silent auction, a raffle and a Marine Honor Guard opening ceremony.
Tickets are $20, and should be purchased by July 15. Call Jerry at (262) 782-7294.
Young adults invited to explore faith over a pint
The Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee will host Theology-on-Tap at O'Donoghue's Irish Pub, 13225 Watertown Plank Road, at 7 p.m. Tuesdays, July 13 to Aug. 3.
The speaker series is designed for adults in their 20s and 30s. Sessions are free.

• July 20 - Virtue: What Is It?
• July 27 - Vocation: What Is It?
• Aug. 3 - Discernment: What Is It?
Club takes road trip to tour Villa Terrace gardens
The Elm Grove Garden Club will meet at the Elm Grove Park and Shop, 13425 Watertown Plank Road, at 9 a.m. July 15 and carpool to Villa Terrace for a garden tour. A luncheon will follow. The cost is $4. For information, call (414) 774-1582.
