Brookfield Academy

Sixty-four seniors will graduate at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Patriots Hall gymnasium. Members of the graduating class received 308 college acceptances and more than $6.2 million in scholarship offers. The graduating class also includes 10 National Merit Finalists, five National Merit Commended Students and two National Merit Scholarship award winners.

Brookfield Central

Brookfield Central's annual Bebop and BBQ event will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the school. Tickets cost $20 for adults and $12 for students and seniors, and proceeds will benefit Central's band program.

Brookfield Christian School

Bright Beginnings students have been studying community workers for the past two weeks. They talked about doctors and nurses last week, and this week they learned about police officers and firefighters. In other news, May 5 was staff appreciation day at Brookfield Christian. The school's parent organization, The Circle, provided a lunch and volunteers to cover all staffing needs at school while the teachers enjoyed a well-deserved break.

Brookfield Elementary

Kindergarten orientation for the incoming class for the 2011-12 school year was held Friday. Students experienced life as a kindergarten student and had the opportunity to meet their future classmates. Principal Lynn Gutchewsky provided parents with information regarding the kindergarten program, a tour of the building and the opportunity to have their questions answered.

Brookfield East

Student Chang Ge placed third in the state for fifth-year French students and 14th in the nation in the Grand Concours, a national French exam. Chang went from French 3 to French 5 consecutively, and her study of French 4 was done completely on her own.

Burleigh Elementary

The spring concert for fourth- and fifth-grade band, orchestra and chorus students will be Thursday. There will be two concerts, one for staff members and students during the day and a performance for friends and family at 7 p.m.

Dixon Elementary

The fourth-graders will share their year of learning through their Celebrate the Fabulous 50 States program May 20. The day will include a performance of songs and trivia, as well as a time to share the projects they completed throughout the year.

Fairview South

Students will attend the Milwaukee Brewers game Wednesday. This annual event is sponsored by Eric Haertle of Triad Medical.

Hillside Elementary

Hillside's spring chorus, band and orchestra concert was held Monday at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts. The talented musicians and singers showcased their work from many months of lessons and rehearsals.

Pilgrim Park Middle School

A representative from the American Lung Association will be working with sixth-grade students Monday to discuss lung health. The Brookfield East Students Against Drunk Driving chapter will assist with a presentation, and students will culminate the day with a walk/run to celebrate healthy living.

St. Dominic

St. Dominic's 4-year-old kindergarten through fifth-grade students will present The Universal Language, their spring music concert, Wednesday. In other news, High Interest Day will be held Friday. High Interest Day is set aside for students to explore new areas of interest and have some fun.

St. John Vianney

High Interest Day was held at the school Friday. The students were able to choose from more than 40 fun activities including rock climbing, candy making and dog care.

St. Mary's Visitation

St. Mary's Visitation invites parents of 4- and 5-year-olds to a kindergarten open house Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the school. Parents and their children can meet the K4 and K5 teachers and tour the school. In addition, St. Mary's Visitation will welcome families to a K4 and K5 Shadow Day from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday. Children can participate in class activities while their parents learn about the school. For information, call (262) 782-7057.

Swanson Elementary

The Swanson PTO sponsored Muffins with Mom on May 5. Students and their mothers enjoyed muffins, coffee, juice and fellowship.

Wisconsin Hills Middle School

Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade orchestra students will perform a spring concert Tuesday at the Wilson Center in Brookfield. Parents, family members and members of the public all are invited to attend.
