1Two jars of change, valued at $60, were stolen from a home in the 8300 block of South Golden Fields Drive between noon and 3 p.m. July 28. A screen was pried off an open bedroom window.
2About $5,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from a locked residence in the 8000 block of South Willow Drive between 10:30 a.m. and 6:10 p.m. July 30. A kitchen window was broken to gain entry to the home. A bedroom was ransacked. Damage is estimated at $500.
3A GPS unit and power cable, valued at $520, and about $3 were stolen from a car inside a garage in the 8100 block of South Wilding Drive between 8 p.m. Aug. 1 and 10:10 a.m. Aug. 2. The perpetrator entered through an open window.
1A $932 Bridgestone tire was stolen at Love's Travel Center, 9750 S. 20th St., between July 22 and July 29.
1A $20 cooler and two six-foot-long aluminum car ramps were stolen from a property in the 8900 block of South Chicago Road before 1:30 p.m. July 28. A witness said the thieves backed a blue, two-door vehicle with black rims, tinted windows and a loud muffler into the driveway and took the items. A rear window on the garage was broken. Damage is estimated at $100.
1A man was arrested July 31 for stealing a Sears Craftsman power tool from his parent's garage in the 8900 block of South Chicago Road between 5:30 p.m. July 28 and 3:15 p.m. July 29.
1A tractor-trailer, valued at $25,000, was stolen from the lot at Love's Travel Center, 9650 S. 20th St., between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. July 29.
1A man was arrested for theft at 10 a.m. July 30 after being identified as the person who stole pull tabs during a December incident at Love's Travel Center, 9650 S. 20th St. The man was pumping gas when an employee recognized him.
10A man was arrested for shoplifting a drill and bolt cutter at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., at 5:25 p.m. July 30.
10A $700 iPhone 5, about $2,500 worth of Yellow Cab Co-op money and a wallet containing about $400, three credit cards and a driver's license were stolen from a Yellow Cab in the 200 block of East Field Stone Circle between 9:30 a.m. July 31 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 1.
10A stereo was stolen out of a locked vehicle in the 8000 block of South Wildwood Drive, and the vehicle was then moved to the 7900 block between 7 p.m. July 31 and 6 a.m. Aug. 1. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $50.
10A package containing $483 worth of "True Romance" merchandise that was delivered via UPS to an apartment in the 4000 block of East Elm Road was stolen between 5:45 p.m. July 31 and 10:50 a.m. Aug. 1.
10A wallet containing $160, a debit card, gift cards and health insurance cards was stolen from the self-checkout area at Pick 'n Save, 6462 S. 27th St., about 3:20 p.m. Aug. 1.
10An unknown man posing as a member of the housekeeping staff at the Fairfield Inn, 6460 S. 13th St., stole more than $1,700 worth of electronic equipment out of a customer's room about 6:45 a.m. Aug. 3. The suspect, described as a black male in his early to mid-20s with a thin build, short black hair and wearing tan khakis and a short-sleeved shirt, stole a Dell laptop computer, a Blackberry Bold 9930, an Amazon Kindle Fire tablet and a 17-inch HP Pavilion out of the room while the customers were having breakfast. The man was captured on surveillance video as he entered and left the premises and was witnessed walking near a wooded area by Comfort Suites shortly afterward. The Blackberry was recovered Aug. 4 and returned to its owner.
10A man was arrested for stealing three ratchets, valued at $52, at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., at 7:35 p.m. Aug. 4.
10A $1,600 women's bicycle was stolen from outside a trailer at Sunrise Shores, 8481 S. 5th Ave., between 1 p.m. July 31 and 10:35 a.m. Aug. 5.
10A boy was cited for shoplifting after he stole a $70 pair of Adidas shoes at Kohl's, 9035 S. Howell Ave., about 4 p.m. Aug. 5. The responding officer contacted Child Protective Services in regards to the boy, who had extreme body odor and severely dilapidated shoes.
· An Oak Creek resident came home to find her 14-year-old daughter naked with a male about 6 p.m Aug. 2. The man quickly left in a blue Hyundai or Honda with Illinois license plates. The daughter told police the male came to her home and she had opened the door for him because she knew him as "Mike" from Facebook. After she let him into the house, he attempted to kiss her. When she told him "no," he removed her clothes and attempted to have sex with her. Police are investigating.
10Officers responding to a report of a loud argument outside Oak Shores Apartments, 2600 W. Lakewood Drive, arrested a female for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after canine officer Bronco found one plastic bag containing 4.5 grams of THC and a pipe underneath the passenger-side seat of her vehicle about 10:30 p.m. July 28. The female was not involved in the argument, but was found sitting in another vehicle parked in the lot when police were investigating.
10A male was arrested for possession of Oxycontin in the 200 block of West Ryan Road during a traffic stop about 5 p.m. July 29.
