Local municipal spring elections off to slow start
Nomination papers for municipal offices are due Jan. 7, and so far just one aldermanic office has a challenger. Kris Seals of Brookfield picked up nomination papers to run in district 7. Alderwoman Lisa Mellone is the incumbent.
Also up for re-election in the city are aldermen Bill Carnell, Bob Reddin, Jeff McCarthy, Mark Nelson, Gary Mahkorn and Jerry Mellone.
In the town of Brookfield, supervisors John Schatzman and Pat Stroebel are up for election, and in Elm Grove, the terms of trustees John Meser, John Domaszek and George Haas are coming to an end. No other residents have registered in those elections, according the local clerks.
Incumbents have until Dec. 27 to inform the municipality if they are not going to seek re-election. The elections will be April 1.
