City of Brookfield

BURGLARY

1A wallet was taken from a car in the 12700 block of Cardinal Crest Drive between 9:30 p.m. Dec. 1 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 2.

2A resident in the 12800 block of West Greenfield Avenue reported $110 in cash was taken from the glove box in his unlocked car in his driveway between 10:30 p.m. Dec. 1 and 6:45 a.m. Dec. 2.

3A laptop was stolen from the trunk of a car in the parking lot of St. John Vianney Catholic Parish, 1755 N. Calhoun Road, between 9:40 and 10:05 p.m. Dec. 5. The owner of the car said she thinks someone took her keys while she was attending a church meeting.

4An unknown subject smashed the window of a car parked on the grass in the 3200 block of North Brookfield Road between 8:20 and 8:50 a.m. Dec. 6. A purse was stolen and a check from the purse was forged and cashed at a bank in Mequon.

THEFT

5A man tried to run out of Metro Market, 17630 W. Bluemound Road, with a cart of groceries, but left the cart behind when an employee chased him about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3.

6A man tried to steal several items from Pick 'n Save, 12735 W. Capitol Drive, about 11:40 p.m. Dec. 8. When a manager confronted him, the suspect fled and threw the basket of items he was trying to take.

ACCIDENTS

7At least one person was transported to the hospital after a collision in the 14600 block of West Burleigh Road about 10:45 a.m. Dec. 7.

OTHER

· Police are investigating an anonymous letter they received Dec. 3 accusing a Brookfield mother of providing alcohol to her daughter and underage friends.

9An unknown person damaged several items in St. John Vianney Catholic Parish, 1755 N. Calhoun Road, between 4:30 and 10 p.m. Dec. 5 while meetings were being held and doors were unlocked.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

10A Pewaukee woman was arrested for drunken driving, first offense, on the on-ramp to Interstate 94 from Bluemound Road about 11 p.m. Nov. 27 after city of Brookfield Police saw the driver swerving across lane lines and stopping at a traffic signal partway into the intersection. Her blood alcohol content was 0.12.

OTHER

11A Pewaukee man was arrested for lewd and lascivious behavior at Aldi, 1955 W. Bluemound Road, about 11 a.m. Nov. 28 after he exposed himself at the front doors of the store. The man said he urinated in front of the store because it was closed and he didn't know where to find a bathroom. He said he dropped his pants all the way to the ground because he enjoyed the cool air blowing on his genitals so he "stood there and enjoyed it," according to the police report. The man was also cited for retail theft when the officer found several items on him from the Dollar Store that he said he took without paying for.

12A father and son from Pewaukee were arrested after a hit and run at Davidson and Springdale roads that occurred about 4:30 a.m. Nov. 30. Police found the car, suspected of hitting a pole and mailbox, in the parking lot of Elmbrook Church. After the father said the car had only struck a pole in the parking lot, the son said he had driven it into the pole and mailbox in question. The father was cited for obstructing police, and the son was cited for a hit and run.

13A 29-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly contact in the 100 block of Rip Van Winkle Drive about 7 p.m. Dec. 1 after she allegedly charged and pushed the girlfriend of her ex-husband into the counter at her ex-husband's home where they were putting up Christmas decorations with their children.

Village of Elm Grove

THEFT

14At least 25 path markers valued together at $60 were taken from Elm Grove Village Park, 13600 Juneau Blvd., between Nov. 26 and Dec. 2.

15Landscape lighting and a $7,000 bronze statue of a boy pushing a girl on a swing were reported taken from two different homes in the 1500 block of Greenway Terrace about noon Dec. 4.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

16A woman was arrested for drunken driving, first offense, in the parking lot of Elm Grove Liquor, 15380 Watertown Plank Road, about 11:40 p.m. Dec. 6. An officer approached the car because the store was closed. The driver said she had driven to the parking lot from Milwaukee, where she had consumed alcohol. Her BAC was 0.08.

ACCIDENTS

17A woman was cited for inattentive driving after rear-ending another car at Moorland and Bluemound roads about 9:30 p.m. Dec. 4. The driver said she was turning right, looking for oncoming traffic and moving forward when the car ahead of her stopped suddenly. There were no reported injuries.

VANDALISM

18A resident reported Dec. 5 that Christmas lights on her bushes were cut at her home in the 600 block of Vernon Place, where she said they had also been cut three times last year.
