Each summer, The Women's Center offers a fundraising tour of a spectacular lakefront home in Waukesha County. This year Mary and Mark Sellers graciously opened their home on Moose Lake, the site of the former Hasslinger's Resort, to the public.
Chairing the benefit were Alana Merkow and her mother, Ann Bartos Merkow.
In addition to touring the home, guests were offered cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dancing to live music on the lakefront patio and fireworks on the beach.
Founded in l977, The Women's Center offers free services to address domestic violence, sexual assault and abuse. That includes providing emergency shelter for abused women and their children, transitional living, group and individual counseling, child abuse prevention programming, legal advocacy, employment counseling and a 24-hour crisis line. Marie Kingsbury is executive director of the agency.
