Starlight Serenade, a tribute to Scouts

Proud parents and longtime supporters of Scouting gathered at Westmoor Country Club recently for the Starlight Serenade black tie gala.

The Potowatomi Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America hoped to raise upwards of $30,000 to support their youth development programs.

Co-chairing the benefit were Joanne and Geoff Blaesing of Brookfield, assisted by committee members Darcy and Dave Hinz and Lynda Curl of Brookfield and Julie and Tom Hochuli of Pewaukee.

Welcoming guests to Westmoor were Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from the Potowatomi Area Council. Some of the many attendees were Nancy and Paul Melnick and Barb and Don Reinicker of Waukesha, Potowatomi Area Council Executive Director Patrick Scherer and his wife, Mara, of Sussex, Kristine and Greg Nebel of Merton, Carol andWilliam Stube of New Berlin, and Kristine andMike Guest, Darcy andDavid Hinz, Char andRichard Schulze and Sandy and Mark Calawerts, all of Brookfield.

This is the fifth year the event has been held, and it has raised more than $100,000 to support Scouting programs. The Scout Leadership Breakfast will be held Jan. 2l at the Country Springs Hotel and will feature speaker Curtis Sliwa. For more information, call Connie Bielinski at (262) 436-84l9.
