1A Brookfield man reported that his handgun, three clips and a gun lock box were stolen, likely from his home in the 2600 block of North 131st Street, at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 12. The theft likely happened in the week preceding the report.
2A driver left without paying for $27.91 worth of gas at Mobil, 17235 W. Bluemound Road, about 8 p.m. Oct. 8.
3A tote bag, three coats and loose change were taken from an unlocked vehicle at Kohl's Department Store, 2315 N. 124th St., between 8 and 8:45 p.m. Oct. 8. Loss is estimated at $635.
4A man appearing to be in his early 20s ran out of Boston Store, 15875 W. Bluemound Road, with five handbags he had not paid for at 8:50 p.m. Oct. 8. The handbags ranged in price from $95 to $800. He left in a waiting vehicle.
5Two females stole two purses stuffed with clothing at Target, 12725 W. Bluemound Road, at 3:17 p.m. Oct. 10. Loss is estimated at $416. The theft was reported the next day.
6An 18-year-old and a 16-year-old were cited for retail theft and disorderly conduct at REI, 13100 W. Capitol Drive, about 4:45 p.m. Oct. 10.
7A 22-year-old woman was arrested for retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia at JC Penney, 95 N. Moorland Road, about 9:20 p.m. Oct. 10.
8A 19-year old woman admitted to stealing cash from the registers where she worked, at Sears, 115 S. Moorland Road, as reported at 6 p.m. Oct. 11. She was cited for theft.
Town of Brookfield
9A laptop computer valued at $1,500 was taken from a vehicle outside The Melting Pot, 19850 W. Bluemound Road, before 9:49 p.m. Sept. 21. Access was gained by smashing a window. Damage is estimated at $300.
10Three people broke into a locked money box that was part of a gambling game at the Speedway Inn Bar, 18815 W. Bluemound Road, about 8 p.m. Sept. 27. Video surveillance shows that while one man appeared to be playing the game, he cut off the lock on the door and put the cash into a woman's purse. Police have not made any arrests.
11Four cars were broken into in the parking lot of the Majestic Cinema, 770 Springdale Road, between 9 p.m. and midnight Oct. 5. In each case, someone had smashed a window on the car. Items taken included a digital camera, a cellphone, two iPods and a wallet. Police obtained surveillance video of a person attempting to use one of the stolen credit cards, but the video was not clear enough to get a description of the person.
12A New Berlin man and a Milwaukee woman were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and possession of narcotic drugs and prescription medications they did not have a prescription for after police responded to a fight at Pizza Hut, 17800 W. Bluemound Road, about 10 p.m. Oct. 6.
13A homeless man staying at Motel 6, 20300 W. Bluemound Road, was arrested for battery at 12:38 p.m. Oct. 11. The 25-year-old man had repeatedly punched another man, 55, saying the older man owed him money to pay for the room they had been staying in together. The younger man was taken to Waukesha County Jail. The case was referred to the district attorney.
Village of Elm Grove
14A Milwaukee woman was arrested after she admitted to smoking marijuana 20 minutes before being pulled over for speeding in the 14800 block of Watertown Plank Road at 8:43 p.m. Oct. 14. The woman admitted to smoking, but passed field sobriety tests. Officers found marijuana in her car, took a chemical test of her blood and cited her for driving with a restricted controlled substance, possession of marijuana and speeding.
15Police pulled over a possible drunken driver at Bluemound and Moorland roads at 2:49 a.m. Oct. 13. The driver was found to be "borderline" after field sobriety tests and was given a warning. The driver left the car in a parking lot and waited for alternative transportation.
16A man was arrested on a warrant for driving with a suspended license after he was stopped for speeding in the 14700 block of Watertown Plank Road at 4:24 p.m. Oct. 10. The man then paid $114 for his bond.
