Brookfield Central girls tennis coach Dave Steinbach came back from the U.S. Open and ran into a buzz saw.
Girls golf: Spartans third at Greater Metro meet
Brookfield East finished third for the second Greater Metro Conference mini-meet in a row Aug. 30, shooting a 207 at Westmoor Country Club.
Girls swimming/diving: Central whips Tosa East by 76 points
Brookfield Central crushed Wauwatosa East, 129-53, on Sept. 2 at home in a Greater Metro Conference dual meet.

Lancer youngsters beat Racine Case
Brookfield Central and new head coach Jamie Meulemans rolled to a victory over Racine Case on opening night, dealing the Eagles their 31st consecutive defeat. The Lancers' next test will come against Oak Creek (1-0) on Friday.

Brookfield East scores early, often to beat Grafton
Brookfield East has overwhelmed many of its high school girls soccer foes this season but too often has let them hang around longer than the Spartans would like. Friday night, East scored three goals in the first 21 minutes and rolled past Grafton, 7-2.
