Lancers play Hamilton tough but fall short
The Lancers fought back from an 11-point deficit but couldn't quite get over the hump and saw their season end with a four-point loss to Milwaukee Hamilton in a sectional semifinal. Top-seeded Hamilton advances to take on Racine Park in the sectional final.

Brookfield Central's Malcore ties for fourth in floor
Brookfield Central senior Katelyn Malcore finished 10th in all-around, highlighted by a fourth-place performance in the floor, at the WIAA State Girls Gymnastics Tournament in Wisconsin Rapids on Friday and Saturday.

Slow-starting Spartans can't close gap, fall to Racine Horlick
Brookfield East suffered through an 0-for-7 first quarter from the field and could never quite get over the hump in a season-ending loss to Racine Horlick on Tuesday night.
Brookfield Central takes care of first-round business
Having won their third straight Greater Metro Conference championship March 4, Brookfield Central (17-6) now faces Greendale on Saturday at 4 p.m. at home following an 85-8 trouncing in the regional semifinal victory over Milwaukee Pulaski/Milwaukee Arts on Tuesday.

It is like the Gunfight at the OK Coral without the bullets - one goalkeeper, one close-range shooter and way too much net to cover. After playing your heart out in a double overtime tie, it is a lousy way to lose a game and a dramatic way to win one.

Top-seeded Hamilton defeated Brookfield Central,47-43, in a sectional semifinal March 12.

Brookfield Central earned a 73-65 victory over host Whitnall on March 6 in a regional final.
