What the Lancers accomplished was a truly emotional victory over rival Milwaukee Marquette and a state title. The Lancers tallied 99 points, while Marquette finished second with 115.

Brookfield Academy wins

Daniel Ricci was almost perfect Saturday afternoon. The Brookfield Academy quarterback completed 20 of 26 pass attempts for 325 yards and five touchdowns in his football team's 35-6 Midwest Classic Conference victory at Hope School. He did have two interceptions, however.

Ryan Denu swallowed his pride. The senior was told he would play No. 4 singles this season for the Brookfield Central boys tennis team, behind two freshmen and a sophomore, no less.
