Building Your First Web Page

When building anything, you start with the structure! Learn the structure of the web page as well as the basics of HTML, the primary language of the Web. Get the foun¬dation you need to go on to build web pages with Dreamweaver, or other develop¬ment tools. Finish off this class with an introduction to some free tools you can use to create and publish your pages. (Suggested prerequisite: Introduction to Internet Technologies.)

Computer Diagnostics and Repair

Put that phone down…no need to call for help just yet! Build your knowledge of basic maintenance and general computer operations and discover how to identify the cause of computer problems and repair them. When you are finished with this class, you should be able to perform basic repairs or communicate better with anyone you may want to have work on your computer. Suggested prerequisite: Basic Computer Maintenance class or a good understanding of the tasks needed to keep a computer running in good condition.

NEW! Spanish-American War & Philippine Insurrection

Ever wonder what causes a war? Join us as we examine a “splendid little war” known as the Spanish-American War where the US took its first tentative steps onto the world stage. Discover the causes and events leading up to the war and the war itself and how the United States contin¬ued to face armed resistance in the Philippines for the next 15 years, foreshadowing later 20th and 21st century US wars. Analyze the misunderstandings and US actions that led to the ensuing conflict in the Philippines and take away a better understanding of the cause and effect of war.

Beginning Watercolor

Watercolor can be fun, especially when you lose yourself in the flow of the creative process! Whether you are a beginner or would like further instruction before you move to the next level, this class will explore the basics. Focus your skills to achieve watercolor worthy of display, as you learn how to control and maneuver watercolor paints. Travel Photography

A picture is worth a thousand words and a photograph captures a moment in time. With a focus on composition and exposure, learn how to make those good travel pictures into great works of art. Weeks one and two include class lectures on the art of travel photography followed by a Q & A session. Our final class will include a class critique of student travel photos and analysis of the concepts we’ve learned. Bring your camera and flash equipment to class.
