“Wilander is considered one of the greatest players of all time, having won seven Grand Slam titles” says Timon Corwin, General Manager at Western Racquet Club. “Not only was he a great champion, but he is a great ambassador for the sport. It's an honor and a great opportunity for us to have him here at Western Racquet Club to share his knowledge of the game with our members and young players.”

From 1982 to 1988, Wilander won seven Grand Slam singles titles and one Grand Slam men’s doubles title. He finished 1988 ranked number one in the world. Wilander was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2002 and played on Sweden’s Davis Cup Championship Team in 1984, 1985, and 1987. Wilander’s travelling partner, Cameron Lickle, played number one and served as captain of the Naval Academy tennis team in 2002 and 2003. Lickle was also selected as “Captain of the Captains” of all sports teams in 2003. He was inducted into the Naval Academy Sports Hall of Fame in 2003 and is currently playing ITF Future Events.

Western Racquet Club is a private tennis, swimming, dining, and social club in Elm Grove, Wisconsin that boasts one of the premier junior tennis programs in the Midwest.
