ActionCOACH of Elm Grove Unites with Guest House of Milwaukee for Coaching for a Cause

ActionCOACH Business Coach Tom Palzewicz and Guest House of Milwaukee are working with one another to leverage Guest House of Milwaukee and Coaching for a Cause’s visibility

Elm Grove, WI, November 10, 2009 – The Guest House of Milwaukee provides shelter, housing, education, and services to Milwaukee’s homeless who seek to transform their lives with dignity and purpose.

Celebrating its 27th anniversary in 2009, Guest House today is the premier provider of a transitional housing program which leads to permanent supported housing. An on-site clinic provides addiction counseling and the emergency shelter offers access to basic support: food, clothing, bed, etc.

ActionCOACH Business Coach Tom Palzewicz came into contact with Guest House of Milwaukee through Judi Murphy, ActionCOACH’s Director of Strategic Alliances, and he immediately knew he wanted to get involved with them and help them out by coaching them.

“It means so much to me to be able to help people who are working with individuals to have productive meaningful and changed lives, “Palzewicz said. “They are taking people who were living day to day and providing them with treatment, then integration into regular society through employment opportunities.”

Palzewicz will devote his time to coaching Executive Director, Cindy Krahenbuhl, and her team, and coach her to deploy systems in her organization, find funding, and help recruit qualified employees.

“Tom has been a fabulous coach and this has been a tremendous opportunity for the Guest House. Not only are we getting our own one-on-one focus, but we are exposed to other businesses that are facing some of the same struggles we are facing as a nonprofit. To have this type of experience has allowed not only me, as Executive Director, to think outside of the box, but my whole team as well,” says Executive Director Cindy Krahenbuhl. “Our team is becoming better prepared each day to combat the ongoing community struggles of homelessness. We embrace this voyage and are making the most of it.”

Coaching for a Cause is an innovative new program from ActionCOACH, the world’s number one business and executive coaching firm, which makes pro-bono coaching available to charities and non-profits worldwide. To learn more, go to www.coachingforacause.org.
